For those looking to jump into electric scooters either for recreation or more frequent commuting, GOTRAX offers a lineup of budget-minded models that can satisfy a wide range of needs — without breaking the bank.
The GXL Commuter V2 is about the least expensive scooter you can buy that is not a kid’s toy and highly functional for recreation and lighter use. The Xr Ultra is a step up from the GXL V2, offering similar build and a bigger, higher-quality LG battery and more range. The Apex, a relative newcomer, offers a bit more battery and completely redesigned frame that lowers your center-of-gravity for a more stable ride.
At the midrange is the GOTRAX XR Elite which has a more powerful 300-watt motor and more battery giving it faster acceleration and longer range than entry-level models, based on our testing.
Finally, we have the flagship GOTRAX G4 — a fabulous scooter with giant, 10-inch tires, giving it the best ride quality of the bunch, the beefiest construction, most powerful motor, and largest battery. The G4 is very hard to beat at its price range and is the most suitable GOTRAX model for daily use.
For kids, GOTRAX offers two models that are sure to put a smile on their face: the GKS and GKS Lumios. The GKS is a fun scooter that features a 8 mph top speed and range up to 4 miles. It has simple foot controls designed for safety and ease-of-use and can accommodate ages from 6 to 12 years and up to 154 lbs.

The GXL V2 is the least expensive scooter that can actually serve as a functional commuter and was previously the Best Electric Scooter Under $300 winner (replaced by the GOTRAX Xr). It delivers decent range and speed at a rock-bottom price and is a great model for new buyers looking to get their feet wet.
Build quality is good for the price, but is lighter than heftier GOTRAX models, like the G4, and is unsuitable for heavy use.

The G4 absolutely smashes as a budget scooter and includes lots of features we love to see — giant 10-inch tires, beefy frame, and reliable disc brake. It’s certainly the highest-quality and fastest scooter from GOTRAX and a legit contender that beats out the pricier (and slower) stalwart M365 in terms of speed, ride quality and build quality.
If you are looking for more solid scooter for commuting but still want to stay in the inexpensive range, the G4 is hard to beat.

The Apex is a brand-new model from GOTRAX that features a completely re-designed frame, larger LED display, and brighter headlight for improved safety.
On this GOTRAX, the battery has been relocated to the deck, dropping center-of-gravity and improving the balance/stability of the scooter.
Based on the battery size, we estimate the Apex will have a range slightly better than the GXL V2, but not as good as the XR Ultra, Elite or G4 scooters.
