Updated December 2021: the Wolf King GT is the fastest production scooter in the world.
We live in an unprecedented time, when much of the world enjoys unregulated access to ridiculously fast electric scooters. Every month, newer, faster, extreme scooters arrive within grasp of scooter-loving mortals like us. This is a period of time that’s likely to pass by almost as quickly as the scooters themselves. So if you’re going to choose one, it may be best to get it done soon.
To help you sort out the fastest of the fast (while they last), we’ve compiled: The Top 10 Fastest Electric Scooters in the World.
Most of these records are based on our precision Racelogic GPS data, but some are sourced from others who’ve used uncalibrated methods (cell phone, speedometer) that have varying accuracy.
We’ve ranked the top 10 by top speed, and we’ve also including data for standing 1/16th mile time, 330 ft as well as 0 to 30 mph time where data is available.

Top speed has always been the king-maker of rankings. If you want to be the heavyweight champ, you’ve got to be fastest, not necessarily the quickest. It’s also a category where vehicles can get away with being heavier and still do well, because top speed is mainly a measure of power versus wind resistance, as long as you don’t run out of runway.

We consider the 1/16th mile (330 ft) time test to be the gold standard for determining electric scooter acceleration performance, much like the ¼ mile time is for muscle cars. Aside from 330 ft being the distance in which most electric scooter acceleration curves flatten out, it’s also relevant to city riding. A typical city block is roughly 400 ft, and when you factor in needing some room to slow down before the next light, 330 ft is a great fit.
To perform well at this test, the scooter needs both a blend of low-end acceleration as well as respectable top speed. The distance is not so long that it favors scooters with the absolute highest top speed; it is not so short that it favors only scooters with excellent acceleration off the line.
Only scooters with measured 1/16th mile times on the ESG test track have been included.

While most riders don’t spend a whole lot of time at top speed, we do spend a lot of time between 0 and 30 mph. Whether pulling out into traffic, or merging left into a left-hand turn lane, a scooter with a quick 0 to 30 mph time makes life easy when it comes to blending with traffic. These are the 10 scooters that do it best.
Fastest Electric Scooters Leaderboard
Minimotors Dualtron Thunder
Top Speed: 50.0 mph | 1/16th mile: 8.9 s | 0 – 30 mph: 5.0 s
#10 Minimotors Dualtron Thunder
One of the original “World’s Fastest Scooters”, the Thunder hangs tough in spot #10. Voted #1 in the world for “best scooter to own” in the 2020 ESG scooter survey, its smooth and fast style, plus huge grippy deck make it a great scooter for long fast rides.
Minimotors Dualtron Storm
Top Speed: 51.6 mph | 1/16th mile: 8.9 s | 0 – 30 mph: 4.9 s
#9 Dualtron Storm
The Dualtron Storm dumps so much power into its humongous 6640 watt motors that we actually had turn it down to get the best acceleration performance.
The Minimotors Dualtron Storm’s aggressive good looks go well with its aggressive throttle response and sporty stiff suspension. With its loud motors and angular design full of swag lights all the way down into the swingarms, the Storm turns heads at any speed.
It’s also got the world’s largest swappable scooter battery at 30 lb and 2268 wh. If you carry a spare, you can cover 86 road-shredding miles (138 km) without plugging in.
Top Speed: 54 mph | 1/16th mile: N/A | 0 – 30 mph: N/A
#8 TurboWheel Phaeton
The Phaeton is eWheels’ version of the Zero 11X and the (now defunct) Apollo Ultra. At 132 lb it’s the second heaviest scooter on the list after the Dualtron X2.
NOTE: 54 mph top speed reported by several 3rd party sources
Top Speed: 56 mph | 1/16th mile: N/A | 0 – 30 mph: N/A
#7 WEPED SS
The Weped SS is a unicorn: not just because it’s sometimes covered in rainbow-colored lights, but also because you’re unlikely to ever see one in person. Top speed data points for unmodified Wepeds are even more elusive than the scooters themselves, but two sources have placed the top speed of the stock SS at 56 mph. The Weped is an exception sneaking into our Top 10 without documented GPS data, but it’s just too famous for being fast to be omitted from this list.
If you’ve got an unmodified Weped and have speed data, please share it with us, or come see us and your scooter can join this list of the world’s fastest.
Minimotors Dualtron Thunder II
Top Speed: 58.3 mph | 1/16th mile: 8.5 s | 0 – 30 mph: 1st Place (4.4 s)
#6 Dualtron Thunder II
Minimotors took the Dualtron Thunder, one of the fastest and most powerful 60V scooters ever made, gave it an enormous 72V battery, a slick double-click throttle, and doubled the peak output power!
Fortunately, they also equipped it with the largest battery we’ve ever seen. So you can ride it as hard as your sanity, safety and local law enforcement will allow, without worrying about the battery gauge. You also won’t have to worry about flat tires, since it comes standard with the new flat-proof tires (we’ve tested them, they work).
This is one of few scooters which will go further and faster than we care to go!
Top Speed: 58.8 mph | 1/16th mile: 7.9 s | 0 – 30 mph: 1st Place (3.7 s)
#5 NAMI Burn-E (Viper)
The quickest scooter we’ve ever tested, and one of the best. We track 16 performance metrics in our database, and the BURN-E shattered 13 of them.
Fortunately, it also has the best throttle response of any scooter we’ve tested, allowing us to ride comfortably at 5 mph or 50 mph without changing riding modes.
Surprisingly, in addition to being the quickest, it also has one of the longest range of any scooter we’ve tested at 53.3 mi.
Kaabo Wolf King
Top Speed: 59.4 mph | 1/16th mile: 8.8 s | 0 – 30 mph: 4th Place (4.9 s)
#4 Kaabo Wolf King
In top performance mode, Kaabo’s Wolf King is a scooter that requires your full attention.
In return for your attentive riding, you get the best electric scooter value on the planet in terms of speed vs. dollars.
Minimotors Dualtron X II
Top Speed: 60 mph | 1/16th mile: N/A | 0 – 30 mph: N/A
#3 Minimotors Dualtron X2
When we reviewed the 60V Dualtron X in 2019, we called it “the biggest baddest scooter on the planet”.
Thankfully, Minimotors decided that too much still wasn’t enough, and brought us the absolutely bonkers sequel: the 72V Dualtron X2. With a deck shaped like a chessboard and huge 13 inch tires, there is no mistaking the king of the Dualtrons.

Kaabo Wolf King GT
Top Speed: 61.0 mph | 1/16th mile: 8.0 s | 0 – 30 mph: 1st Place (3.8 s)
#2 Kaabo Wolf King GT
The Wolf King GT is a different sort of upgrade than we’re used to.
Yes, power is 33% higher than the Wolf King, but more importantly, the GT is way smoother and easier to control. It also has a 25% larger battery, and improved water resistance.
So, it’s not merely the fastest production scooter in the world, it’s also on a new level for build quality with self-sealing tires, LG 21700 battery cells, and a gorgeous, bright center display.
We hope the King GT is a sign of things to come.
Top Speed: 75 mph | 1/16th mile: N/A | 0 – 30 mph: N/A
#1 Rion RE90
True racing machines are refined to such a high level of purity that if you remove any one part, they will cease to function.
By this standard, the Rion RE90 certainly qualifies. It’s so pure, it lacks even a kickstand (just like all racing motorcycles). It is a scooter of uncompromising design and “cost is no object” construction, and its rank as fastest in the world is well earned.

How We Test the Fastest Electric Scooters
This list is based on real-world testing using a high-precision Racelogic GPS system and is based on statistically repeatable measurements and standardized testing procedures. We won’t use numbers read off inaccurate electric scooter speedometers, or manufacturer’s estimates. For interest of completeness, we’ve filled in the gaps using GPS data gleaned from the web, and have cited sources, where used.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why didn’t XYZ scooter make the list? I’ll bet it’s waaaay faster!
We’ll even give you a couple examples: Both the Hunter Quad and Bronco Extreme could certainly find homes in this top 10 list. However we can’t yet reconcile the claimed speeds of >70 mph, with short videos on YouTube showing runs in the 50 mph – 60 mph range. We believe that both of these scooters are very very fast, but it’s impossible to rank them as of yet since no one has done a convincingly rigorous test.
Every major retailer and manufacturer knows they have an open invitation to send us any scooter for testing, and we are constantly expanding our testing database as a result. If you happen to own a production-scooter which is faster than the scooters shown here, we would also be happy to test yours.
I am a manufacturer or retailer and think I have a faster scooter. How do I get you to test it?
